Ruud Leijendekkers

Ruud Leijendekkers is employed as physical therapist and researcher at the Radboud university medical center (the Netherlands, Nijmegen). He provides outpatient rehabilitation of patients with a lower extremity amputation both within the conventional socket prosthesis as the bone-anchored prosthesis program. He obtained his PhD with the dissertation ‘Step by step: rehabilitation and outcomes of persons with a lower extremity amputation using a bone-anchored prosthesis’. Currently, he participates in the MyLeg project to develop an intuitive prosthesis using implantable myoelectric sensors on reinnervated targeted muscles.
